Parkes High School Student Representative Council (SRC) are doing their bit to make things more environmentally friendly within the school grounds by taking a pro-active approach to their fundraising activities.

This Thursday night will see the SRC host a Bingo Night where all money raised will go towards adding much needed shade shelter facilities within the school.

SRC members have been busily canvassing the business community in recent weeks in securing fantastic prizes for Thursday nights fundraiser.

The evening will commence at 7pm at the LP Johnston Hall with Champion Post sports journalist Greg Ballantyne the official caller of the card.

Admission for the night is only $10 and the SRC will provide tea and coffee.

`We urge everyone to invite friends, organise a table if necessary and come along for a fun night out, Melanie Olney (SRC cordinator) said.

`The students have put a lot of effort into the night - walking the streets and securing a range of fabulous prizes generously donated by Parkes wonderful business houses.

`Hopefully, with the support of the school and general community we will end up with a full house.

She urged all those attending to bring along their own nibblies, markers and pens.

`But if you forget, don worry well have a few in hand just in case.
